Return to Home Public Policy The Tampa Bay Partnership's Public Policy mission is to build consensus and a unified regional position on key issues that affect regional economic development.
Policy Councils
The Tampa Bay Partnership is considered a voice for all eight counties in Tallahassee and Washington D.C. Local governments look to the Partnership to convene the regional governments on critical policy issues. Through the implementation of councils, the Partnership addresses some of the issues that impact regional economic development.
Public Policy and Advocacy
The Public Policy and Advocacy Council coordinates efforts in Washington D.C. and Tallahassee, through events such as the Washington and Tallahassee Fly-Ins. The Council builds relationships with state and federal legislators to ensure passage of key agenda items in order to encourage economic vitality in the region.
Transportation
The transportation taskforce works to determine projects of regional importance to accelerate completion; to seek to improve local source funding at state and federal levels through ongoing advocacy efforts; to improve local source funding as well as to increase chances of state and federal matches; and to achieve improved infrastructure in the region through pursuing multi-modal strategies. The task force is composed of private sector business leaders from each of the eight counties.
Tampa Bay on Track is the transportation initiative of the Tampa Bay Partnership. We recognize infrastructure as one of the key drivers of regional prosperity. Our community's infrastructure determines how efficiently and effectively goods, people, and information move within and across our region. These choices can also improve air quality, conserve land and natural resources, and reduce consumption of gas and electricity. This is especially true when it comes to transit and transportation, which is why "A Transportation Strategy to Support Regional Transit" has been one of our key focus areas for many years.
Tampa Bay on Track is an inclusive effort focused on sharing information about the role of transportation in our community, engaging residents from throughout the eight-county Tampa Bay region, and serving as a resource for the latest transportation news and research. We advocate for transit and transportation solutions that address our community’s needs, enhance our economic competitiveness and quality of life, and are consistent with the TBARTA Master Plan.
